{Kim & Rob} Wedding 08.28.2010

One of the great parts about being a wedding photographer is that we get to see people share their love in some amazing locations. Kim and Rob did not disappoint in that area. Their wedding took place at the Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, CT. The park was formerly called Eolia and was the estate of Edward Harkness, heir to a fortune initiated by his father’s investments in Rockefeller’s Standard Oil. The grounds of the mansion were designed by the famous landscape architect, Beatrix Farrand, and feature formal Italian, oriental, stone and rose gardens. It was the formal Italian garden were Rob and Kim decided to stage their ceremony with guests perched in and around a stone pergola overlooking the garden. The reception took place in the mansion with dinner being served inside and dancing taking place on the stone patio overlooking the Long Island Sound. The night was amazing and the crowd was brought to both laughter and tears, as we learned how Kim and Rob first met as children and their love later blossomed as adults.

{Cristina & Ryan} Engagement Session 08.29.2010

For Cristina and Ryan’s engagement session, we headed to the Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit, NJ. We had heard about this place before, but it was our first time shooting there, and we were really impressed. We didn’t have access to the entire arboretum because there was a wedding reception taking place during our session, but Cristina and Ryan had some fun wedding music and speeches to listen to while we were shooting =) Coincidentally, the wedding taking place at the time was being shot by the photographers who shot our own wedding almost 2 years ago! Small world!

{Amie & Dan} Wedding 08.14.2010

Our couples have been blessed with beautiful weather on their wedding days, and Amie and Dan’s day was no different. It was another perfect summer day. The ceremony took place at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Hampton, New Jersey, where Amy made her appearance in a Ford Model T complete with police escorts! After the ceremony, we headed to the 4th hole at High Bridge Hills golf course which is a very special spot for Dan’s family, followed by an outdoor reception on Amie’s grandmother’s beautiful property in Whitehouse, New Jersey.

Not only did they have an unforgettable wedding celebration, but just prior to the wedding they raised almost $15,000 together for the Arc of Hunterdon County and they’re not done yet. Volunteer work is something that Amie and Dan are passionate about, and Dan also serves our country in the U.S. Military. We were so honored to be a part of Amie and Dan’s wedding day, and we hope they are enjoying their honeymoon in Moorea.

Meet Skylar! She is 7 weeks old and weighs only 7 pounds, but she has a big voice! =) You may recognize her big brother Shane from our website and blog. We’ve been photographing him ever since he was just a baby, and he’s growing up fast. We’re glad we were able to get a few shots of him at the park just before it started pouring rain.

We also want to wish their mom, Hope, a very Happy Birthday!

We can’t believe it’s already August! This summer is just flying by!! Today, we took pictures of an adorable little guy named Austin. He’s just 5 1/2 months old and as cute as can be. Doing photo shoots with baby boys like Austin makes us even more excited about welcoming a little boy into our own home in just 2 short months!

We’ve known Alexis and Sierra since they were born. In fact, these beautiful girls were flower girls at our wedding in October 2008, and were two of our very first children’s portrait models! This year, Alexis celebrated her First Communion and Sierra celebrated her Kindergarten graduation, so we did some quick portraits at their house, followed by an adults dinner out with mom and dad. It was a great night!

Last summer, we did a photo session with Jaden in Long Beach Island. At the time, he was just learning to walk, and wasn’t too fond of getting his feet wet. This year, his photo session took place in Wildwood Crest, NJ, and he had absolutely NO fear of the water! As soon as his feet hit the sand, he headed right towards the ocean! After the beach, we headed to the Wildwood boardwalk where we snapped a few photos just before it got dark out.

{Monica & Anthony} Wedding 07.02.2010

Monica & Anthony’s wedding day was simply perfect from start to finish. Monica was glowing with the anticipation and joy of becoming a wife, and Anthony was glowing too… because his country, Uruguay, won the FIFA World Cup game against Ghana that day! Oh, and he was also getting married that day =) Monica and Anthony tied the knot at Saint Thomas the Apostle church in Bloomfield, followed by an amazing reception and after party at the Westmount Country Club. We had so much fun at this wedding that we completely lost track of time by the end of the night! It was truly a celebration of two families and cultures coming together, and we enjoyed every second of it.
