{Aubrey} Portrait Session 06.28.2009

1-week-old Aubrey wins the award for being our youngest client ever! She was such a good girl throughout the entire shoot, and already a natural in front of the camera =) We had a great time getting to know Aubrey’s parents, Pamela and Troy, and wish them all the best with their beautiful baby girl. Congrats!!!

{Cheryl & Jason} Engagement Session 06.14.2009

All week long, the weather forecasters were saying that this weekend was going to be beautiful. Then, on Friday, they changed the forecast and said that it was going to be raining on Sunday afternoon, during our scheduled engagement session with Cheryl and Jason. Looking at the hourly forecast, we saw a brief window of nice weather and decided to go for it. Sure enough, the rain held off, and we spent the afternoon with Cheryl and Jason at the Willowwood Arboretum in Far Hills, NJ. Willowwood is an old estate that was owned by two brothers in the early 1900s. They had a huge interest in horticulture and landscape architecture, so they spent their free time designing some pretty elaborate gardens. We had lots of fun with Cheryl and Jason, exploring the formal gardens and even some of the informal areas, and they were up for anything we suggested. We can’t wait to shoot their wedding at the Bridgewater Manor in November!

{Grounds for Sculpture} Day Trip 06.13.2009

What was predicted to be a sunny Saturday afternoon actually turned out to be quite the opposite, but we took our chances and headed to the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ anyway. We waited in the parking lot until the rain settled down a bit, then headed in and quickly snapped photos for about an hour before the rain really started to come down again. Luckily, we timed it perfectly and managed to see almost all of the exhibits, even though we felt a little rushed due to the weather. Rain does have some benefits for shooting pictures though - we had nice, even lighting, and raindrops look pretty neat in macro shots.
